The Study On The Thought Of Saving The Nation By Industry In The Late Qing Dynasty And The Early Republic Of China

The trend of thought of saving the nation by industry in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China germinated,rose and soared in the historical process of advanced people exploring the way of saving the nation.The thought of saving the nation by industry advocates that the country’s economic strength should be enhanced by setting up industry,so as to achieve the goal of saving the nation from subjugation.Although this goal could not be achieved,this trend of thought of saving the nation through industry and the social situation of China in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China stirred each other,promoted the development of China’s social economy,and played a positive role in the process of China’s early modernization.Based on the existing research results,this paper systematically expounds the role of the thought of saving the nation through industry in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China in promoting China’s early modernization from the perspective of modernization,analyzes the historical limitations of this thought,and sums up the practical enlightenment of the thought of saving the nation through industry on today’s socialist economic modernization with Chinese characteristics.This paper is divided into three parts to study the thought of saving the nation by industry in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.The first part summarizes the rise and causes of the thought of saving the nation by industry in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.With the deepening of the crisis of the Chinese nation,this idea was brewing,sprouting,rising and rising.The development of the idea of saving the country by industry also got the support of the central government.With the help of the national bourgeoisie,the idea of "saving the country by industry" became a trend of thought in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.The second part expounds the content and characteristics of the thought of saving the nation by industry in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.The main contents of the thought of saving the nation by industry include the purpose,premise,strategic policy,business model of national capitalist enterprises and the basic policy of saving the nation by industry.It is characterized by patriotism and progress,moderate reformism and the color of western economic theory.The third part evaluates the thought of saving the nation by industry in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.In a positive sense,this trend of thought resisted the economic aggression of Western powers to a certain extent,opened up a certain space for the development of China’s national capitalism,and further promoted the process of China’s early modernization.From the perspective of its historical limitations,the thought of saving the nation through industry tried to achieve the goal of saving the nation from subjugation and realizing China’s early modernization in an improved way,which was not only lack of material conditions in semi colonial and semi feudal Chinese society,but also not in line with China’s national conditions.Although the thought of saving the nation by industry in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China is not a feasible plan,it is worth affirming that the theorists of saving the nation by industry have made arduous efforts to realize the strategic policy envisaged by China’s early modernization and explore the way out for the nation,which provides valuable experience and lessons for today’s socialist modernization with Chinese characteristics.
