Research On The Spread Of Mandarin Movement In Qing Dynasty From The Perspective Of Modern Newspapers

As the universal language of the Chinese people,Chinese has the largest number of users in the world,so it has great influence all over the world.Chinese characters are the written characters of the Chinese people and one of the oldest characters in the world.Modern Chinese uses the Beijing dialect as the standard pronunciation and the northern dialect as the base dialect.The characters use simplified characters,which are often called simplified characters.The present form of Chinese has gone through exploration and evolution in successive dynasties,among which the national language movement is a very important link.From the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China to the founding of the People’s Republic of China in more than half a century,Chinese society has experienced a long and tortuous language reform movement,covering many key issues of language,including pronunciation,grammar,writing,rhetoric and other aspects,can be said to have a far-reaching and huge effect.From the perspective of later generations,the mandarin movement has greatly promoted the development of modern language and education,and has high academic research value.And a systematic review of the past history and the discovery of the experience and lessons can also be a direction worthy of attention in the study of journalism and communication.The study of modern mandarin movement is inseparable from modern newspapers.From the late qing dynasty,the mandarin movement gradually came into the public view,caused various controversies in the newspapers and magazines,and finally established its orthodox status,we can say that the different development periods of mandarin movement were basically reflected in the newspapers and magazines.Therefore,this paper chooses newspapers and periodicals as the important text materials,and focuses on the rise and development of the mandarin movement in the late Qing Dynasty,and tries to analyze how this movement was introduced into the public view through newspapers and periodicals,how to promote and publicize it,how to achieve the effect and the reasons for its failure.In this period,we will play an antecedent role in the subsequent re-examination of the whole mandarin movement.It is found that the press spread the Mandarin Movement throughout all stages of the event,and played a great role in introducing and promoting this important issue to the public.However,the leading press and its functions were different in different stages.At the beginning of the mandarin movement in the qing dynasty,some advocates made use of the press to expand their influence,and with the advance of the movement,the press took the initiative to include the mandarin movement into the scope of discussion,and the periodical failure of the movement was also closely related to the advocates’ initiative to give up the use of the press and the press turned to official reports.
