| With the continuous development of China’s economy,the mining industry is transforming simultaneously.Although China makes a contribution to the global mining industry,we still have a long way to go in terms of mining equipment.In recent years,some foreign countries have been possessing advanced designing schemes in mining equipment and positive results have been achieved.Advanced design technique is worthy for us to learn and use for reference.Therefore,the E-C translation of scientific report is of great significance.The source text is originally excerpted from the book Human-Centered Design for Mining Equipment and New Technology.As a science and technology document,this book includes a number of normative English expressions and professional terminologies.The author explores effective techniques for translating E-C scientific texts.Through analyzing textual features of the source text and discussing case analysis,the author improves the value and readability of the target text.On the basis of the practice,the translation report consists of four chapters:Chapter One introduces the translation task,including introduction of the source text,features of the text and significance of the task.Chapter Two represents the process of translation,including the preliminary preparation,translation process and quality control.Chapter Three analyzes the cases under the guidance of functional equivalence theory at the lexical,syntactic,and discoursal levels.Chapter Four summarizes the inspiration and experience of the author during the process of translation.Through translation task along with report writing,the author concludes that the scientific report should focus on the transmission of accurate and effective information of the article.In the process of translation,the translator should take readers’ acceptance of the translated language as the standard to ensure that the translation transmits the content effectively.Under the guidance of the functional equivalence theory,the translation techniques can be applied in combination with the characteristics and style of the article,making the target readers get the similar reactions of the readers of the source text. |
