Abstract/Summary:
Teaching practice is an important part of the educational process and related to the realization of education quality directly.The analysis about the verbal texts of pedagogic practices can improve the accuracy of text description and increase the efficiency of pedagogic design for teachers according to different types of learning tasks and students.Therefore,the translation of research materials in this field is of practical significance.The source text is a paper entitled "Pedagogic Register Analysis:Mapping Choices in Teaching and Learning".It’s written by David Rose and published on a journal named Functional Linguistics in May 2018.The paper introduces the systemic functional(SF)research methodology with the core of semiotic system and summarizes the features of verbal texts of pedagogic practices from the aspects of exchange structure,speaking sources and pedagogic activities.The paper illustrates the structuring of pedagogic registers across curriculum genres.The translator finished the translation practice with the guidance of Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory and considered the language features of the source paper including the use of specialized words,passive voice sentences.The translation practice report is divided into four chapters.Chapter one is the introduction of the task,the characteristics and origin of the source text and translation purpose and significance.Chapter two is translation process including the preparation before translation,translation process and quality control.Chapter three analyzes the cases meeting in the process of translation.Based on Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory,the translator discusses the problems of specialized words,passive voice sentences and cohesion at the level of lexical,syntactic and dicourse by combining with examples.Chapter four is the reflections and suggestions.It summarizes the practical experiences of this translation practice and points out the research direction of the translator in the future.Through the translation task,the translator hopes to enhance the translation ability and provide a reference with the translation of such texts.
