A Report On The Simulated Interpretation Of "How Can Artificial Intelligence Improve Surgical Accuracy For Medical Treatment?"

In recent years,with the development of artificial intelligence,the breakthrough of technology and its wide range of application,medical treatment,as an important part of people’s well-being,has attracted much attention.With the deepening of application in the medical field in the era of artificial intelligence,medical robot can effectively help doctors to carry out a series of medical diagnosis and auxiliary treatment,which promote the development of medical informatization as well as relieve the shortage of medical resources.This report is about the practice of Chinese-English simulated interpretation.The interpretation task described in this report is "How can Artificial Intelligence Improve Surgical Accuracy for Medical Treatment?" delivered by Tian Wei—the director of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital,on September 29,2018.There are several outstanding youth representatives from major colleges and universities in the country,as well as the guests of the interactive session of the on-site questioning.The author chooses the program as interpretation practice and records the speaker’s speech.After that,she replays the recording and simulate consecutive interpretation for interpretation practice.Throughout the interpreting process,the interpreter,mainly guided by Seleskovitch’s interpretative theory,uses many methods and techniques in interpreting the original text,such as addition,omission,conversion,paraphrase,reorganization,etc.in the process of understanding the original text.This paper discusses how to solve the problems such as high memory pressure,low output efficiency and poor interpretation expression in the process of interpreting.This report is divided into four parts:task description,interpretation procedure,case analysis and task summary.The task description part gives a general introduction to the simulated interpretation practice,including the time,venue,equipment,audience and other background information of the simulated interpretation activities.The part of interpretation procedure introduces the preparation of interpretation practice,including knowledge preparation,psychological preparation and prediction of possible situations.Case analysis is the core of the practice report,which focuses on the analysis of the difficulties and problems encountered in the practice of interpreting.The problems solved and studied include two aspects:first,how to master the internal logic of the speech to understand the speaker’s intention,judging the tendency of the content of the speech,and looking for the opportunity of interpretation;second,how to grasp the tense transformation and the part of speech transformation between English and Chinese in the process of communication in different language forms so as to realize the meaning transforming between the two languages.At the end of the report,the interpreter’s personal experience in this simulation practice and the direction of her efforts in interpreting training in the future are recorded.
