The six element integrated view of English learning activities is put forward by the English Curriculum Standard of General Senior High School(2017 Edition),which is carried on by the English Curriculum Standard of Compulsory Education(2011 Edition),and aims at improving students’language using abilities and thinking quality.At the same time,this concept also points out the direction for the holistic teaching of English discourse in elementary schools.Therefore,elementary schools English teachers should design comprehensive activities that integrate the six elements of thematic context,discourse type,language knowledge,language skills and learning strategies.Due to the organic cohesion of each course and the gradual development of pupils’language ability,the integrity,gradualness and continuity of English curriculum should be ensured.It can be seen that the holistic teaching of English discourse in elementary schools plays an important role in the whole English course teaching.Therefore,teachers should renew their ideas and form a holistic teaching strategy which accords with the characteristics of English learning activity and pupils’physical and mental development.This paper connected the means of classroom observation and interviewing,and classroom observation form and interviewing outline were authorized according to the literature review.Then take two elementary schools as example.Present situation of elementary English text teaching was found by classroom observation and interviewing students and teachers after analysis of the result including advantages and disadvantage.Find lack of integrity in teaching practice.After elaborating the necessity of discourse integral teaching in elementary schools,select high-quality classroom video as the research object which came from Chinese 9~thh English teaching competition in elementary schools,with the help of classroom interaction analysis NVivo software to analyse the sample video,present the process of classroom English text teaching in quantitative form,analyze the visual results of classroom teaching behavior in high-quality classroom.Get the characteristics of integration of English text teaching in elementary schools:in the aspect of thematic context,teaching steps are presented coherently according to real life;in the aspect of types of text,audio-visual comes first and text is presented by multi-mode;in the aspect of language knowledge,give priority to interaction,assisted by educational technology which lead to language use;in the aspect of cultural knowledge,excavate teaching material to find blanket resource;in the aspect of language skills,combine language import and export;in the aspect of learning strategy,learning process aims at developing students’ability of self-learning.Based on the characteristics and theory of curriculum integration,this paper puts forward the strategy of teaching of English text integration:in the aspect of thematic context,concentrate on the coherency and authenticity of circumstances;in the aspect of types of text,combine class and after-class activities together,and present multi-types of context by multi-mode;in the aspect of language knowledge,combined with context which leads to language use;in the aspect of cultural knowledge,empathetic understanding and moral education should be emphasized;in the aspect of language skills,the ins and outs should be considered in reasonable concordance;in the aspect of learning strategy,well defined goals,layer by layer and help each other.
