On The Elementary School English Reading Teaching In Multi-modal Discourse

The application of various electronic communication devices and multimedia makes language multimodal,and multimodal discourse analysis has gradually become a research hotspot.In order to adapt to the development of world multi-polarization,economic globalization and informatization,the state has always advocated the deepening reform of education.In order to improve the quality of teaching,teachers are encouraged to adopt advanced teaching concepts,combine multimedia and other teaching resources for teaching.The era of globalization requires people to grasp the latest scientific and technological information in time and grasp the latest scientific and technological trends.The best way is to read these English documents directly to obtain information.Therefore,English reading teaching should cultivate students how to read multimodal discourse and cultivate students ’ multimodal reading and writing ability,so as to help students adapt to the rapid social changes in the context of globalization in the near future and meet the challenges brought by economic globalization,linguistic and cultural diversity and technological diversity.Based on the theory of multimodal discourse,this study takes the primary school English reading class as the observation object.On the basis of four months of classroom observation,this study systematically analyzes the primary school English reading teaching,and explores the application of multimodality in the current primary school English reading teaching and how to effectively apply multimodality in English reading teaching.It is expected to find the best modal collocation to improve the effectiveness of primary school English reading teaching.The research questions include :(1)Are there any differences in the effects of multimodal English teaching and traditional English teaching on primary school reading achievement ?(2)What is the effect of multimodal English teaching on pupils ’ English learning attitude ?(3)What are teachers ’ and students ’ attitudes towards multimodal English reading teaching ?The main contents of multimodal primary school English reading teaching research are as follows :(1)Analyzing the application types of major modes in primary school English reading teaching;(2)To investigate the use of multimodal resources in primary school English reading teaching;(3)Exploring the framework of multimodal primary school English reading teaching model;(4)to explore the effects of multimodal English reading teaching on pupils ’ English learning,including achievement,learning attitude and multiliteracies.(5)Suggestions on multimodal English reading teaching for primary school students.The research adopts classroom observation,questionnaire survey,teacher-student interview and other research methods,and uses SPSS 26.0 for data analysis.Through analysis,it is found that the main modes of primary school English reading classroom are visual mode and auditory mode.Teachers should understand the collocation principle and synergy of modes when applying multimodal teaching,so as to make effective use of multimodal resources and improve the teaching efficiency of English classroom.Multimodal reading teaching mode cannot improve students ’ English scores in a short time,but compared with the traditional single form of language grammar explanation,the actual teaching effect of English teaching under the multimodal teaching concept is more ideal.On the whole,multimodal teaching is always in a relaxed and pleasant,open and independent learning atmosphere.Such a subject education and teaching concept helps to strengthen the students ’ main body ’s language memory,so as to improve and optimize the actual memory effect,improve the teaching efficiency,stimulate students ’ interest in reading,improve students ’reading participation and reading initiative,and stimulate students ’ internal reading motivation,so as to cultivate students ’ reading literacy.Based on the research and analysis,the author puts forward the following suggestions for multimodal primary school English reading teaching : closely following the teaching objectives and grasping the teaching focus;adhere to the dominant position of teachers,student-centered;focus on the role of non-modal language resources in classroom teaching;master the basic operation of multimedia,timely feedback and correction of multimedia courseware;reasonable call mode,follow the principle of modal selection;equipped with the required resources,reasonable arrangement of teaching.
