| As one component of language aptitude,grammatical sensitivity plays a vital role in the process of students’ language learning.However,recent grammatical sensitivity researches have focused heavily on college students’ reading and listening comprehension rather than on middle school students’ grammatical sensitivity by the tool of cloze test training.Therefore,this study is mainly about the correlation between grammatical sensitivity and their achievements in the cloze test.In this research,the following questions will be addressed.Firstly,what is the general situation of senior high school students’ grammatical sensitivity,and whether genders as a factor affects their grammatical sensitivity? Secondly,what is the difference of grammatical sensitivity of high score group and low score group in terms of the achievement of cloze tests? Thirdly,what is the correlation between senior high school students’ grammatical sensitivity and achievement of cloze tests? To what degree,can we predict the achievement of cloze tests by grammatical sensitivity?Quantitative and qualitative research techniques are used to collect data from the 122 senior school subjects,who came from one senior high school in Guangxi.SPSS 25.0 is employed to analyze the collected data.The results are as follows.First,the level of grammatical sensitivity in the senior high student is at a medium level,and there is no significant difference between genders in terms of and grammatical sensitivity.Secondly,the low score group of cloze tests may have nothing to do with grammatical sensitivity,but the high one has a significant difference in terms of grammatical sensitivity.Finally,grammatical sensitivity has a moderate correlation with students’ achievement of cloze tests,but there is less predictive power to predict students’ performance in the cloze test.The above conclusions based on two classes in a middle school may have some limitations.However,this study will draw the teacher’s attention to the grammatical sensitivity of students and improving students’ achievement in the cloze test,for our findings concerning senior high school students’ grammatical sensitivity,the relationship between grammatical sensitivity and their cloze test results. |
