A Study Of Chinese Piano Adapted Music "Si Lian"

Piano adaptation is an extremely important part of Chinese piano works.It skillfully combines elements of Chinese traditional folk music with western composing techniques and harmony techniques."Si Lian" is a piano work adapted by Dan Zhaoyi based on the artistic lyric song "That’s Me".It expresses the wanderer’s deep thinking of his hometown and mother.The rich sound effect of the piano makes the vocal music work more artistic.Through the study of this piano music,the performer can better understand the connotation of the work and express the emotion of the work.This article will elaborate from three parts.The first part briefly describes the creative background of "Si Lian" and discusses it from two aspects: composer and creative prototype.The second part is the analysis of the structure of "Si Lian",which is discussed from the musical structure,melody writing and harmony writing of the whole work.The third part is an analysis of the performance of "Si Lian",which includes playing tricks,rhythm,including free rhythm and polyrhythm,and the application of pedals.
