Hong Mai’s "Yi Jian Zhi" in the Song Dynasty covers many aspects of folk beliefs,including Buddhism,Taoism,folk deities(natural gods,personality gods,evil gods),ancestral worship,ghosts,and spirits.As a representative of the Song Dynasty’s classical Chinese novels,in the context of the Song Dynasty’s social and cultural trend of "vulgar",it also showed a secular tendency.While artistic fiction,it paid attention to realism.Hong Mai paid attention to the reliability of the source of the story material and verified it,Also a historian,has a clear motivation for recording history with novels,and the historical texts of novels he compiles have high historical value.The use of "Yi Jian Zhi" to study this topic is more operable,which is in line with the scientific nature of historical research.This article uses Hong Mai’s fable novel "Yi Jian Zhi" as the basic material to discuss the relationship between folk belief and Buddhism in the Song Dynasty.The author briefly explains the reasons for the prevalence of Buddhism in the Song Dynasty.Based on the analysis of the text materials in "Yi Jian Zhi",the author discusses the basic conditions and characteristics of the local folk beliefs in the Song Dynasty beyond the penetration of Buddhist culture,and studies the Song Dynasty The influence of Buddhism on the folk beliefs in the Song Dynasty under the prevailing background of Buddhism analyzes the reasons why Buddhism keeps close to the popularization of the people.Buddhism was extremely prevalent in the Song Dynasty.The central government headed by the emperor adopted a corresponding support policy for Buddhism,and the central and local governments promoted the cause of Buddhism.In addition,the people’s acceptance of Buddhism’s thoughts permeated Buddhism.The process of Buddhist karmic retribution,reincarnation,merits and virtues was accepted or believed by the people,which influenced or changed the content of the Song Dynasty ’s folk beliefs,making Buddhist spirits to a certain extent over Chinesenative spirits.Buddhist belief rituals in popular belief activities,Methods and funeral rituals are everywhere.The economic development of the monastery,meeting the needs of rule and adapting to the social and cultural development trend of the Song Dynasty are the reasons for the secularization of Buddhism,but the people ’s belief needs are a catalyst for changing Buddhist theories and Buddhist practice methods.Buddhism impacted the folk belief culture of the Song Dynasty with its powerful "cultural shock".The Chinese and Turkish cultures have always been inclusive and inclusive.The absorption of Buddhist culture has enriched the connotation of folk belief culture.The practical utility of folk belief culture is the driving force of Buddhism’s own change.The belief needs of the people have prompted Buddhism to keep close to the people and integrate them into the folk belief culture.This process of sinicization is conducive to the deep-rooted Buddhist culture in China.There was a benign interaction between folk belief and Buddhism in the Song Dynasty.
