| Code-switching has always been an important topic in the field of linguistics.Since the promulgation of the "bilingual education" policy in the United States in 1968,the research scope of code-switching has expanded to code-switching in classroom.Nowadays,the study of code-switching in classroom has attracted more and more attention.Scholars at home and abroad have made a lot of achievements in the study of code-switching in classroom.However,in China,most of researchers only study codeswitching in college classroom,and there are few empirical studies on the primary education in the middle school classroom.Therefore,this thesis takes a junior high school in Huangshi city as an example to investigate the current situation of teachers’ code-switching in junior high school English writing classroom.Based on some research methods of interviews,classroom observation,classroom video and the use of camera,recording pen,it will analyze and summarize the types,functions and influencing factors of teachers’ code-switching in junior high school English writing classroom.In this study,firstly,it will transfer text according to classroom videos.Then,it will count the frequency of teachers’ code-switching in different grades,in different teachers and in different types.Some typical examples are also selected to analyze and explain the types of teachers’ code-switching.Next,according to the data analysis and interviews,it will analyze the functions and influencing factors of teachers’ codeswitching.The findings are as follows: firstly,the types of teachers’ code-switching in junior high school English writing class are mainly divided into inter-sentential switching,intra-sentential switching and tag-switching.Among them,the frequency of intersentential switching is the highest,and the frequency of tag-switching is the lowest.At the same time,in English-oriented writing classes,the types of teachers’ code-switching are mainly English-Chinese or English-Chinese-English conversion,and there are a few Chinese-English conversion types.Secondly,the functions of teachers’ code-switching in junior high school English writing class are mainly divided into teaching function,management function and communication function.Among them,the teaching function is the main function;Thirdly,the influencing factors of teachers’ code-switching in junior high school English writing classroom are mainly students,teachers themselves,curriculum standards and social environment.According to this study,it can be found that code-switching is a common phenomenon in junior high school English writing classroom,.when teachers use code-switching reasonably in class,it can be an effective teaching strategy.It can contribute to the implementation of teaching activities,help teachers to achieve teaching objectives and tasks,help students to improve their interest in English learning and promote the harmonious relationship between teachers and students.Finally,this thesis also gives some useful suggestions for junior middle school English teachers. |
