Research And Practice Of The Uniqueness Of David Hockney’s Watercolor Language

David Hockney is one of the most influential artists throughout the world.He has devoted his life to art practice and research and created the most recognizable and vivid images in nearly half a century.In the later period,he challenged has challenged the forefront of technology with art,and began to paint through using electronic devices such as iPhones and iPads.He has subverted the traditional expressions of pens and lines,and has created a unique viewing method and the personal creation,which spans painting,photography,etching,design,etc.In many fields,it has created novel forms of works and passed on new ideas.This paper is divided into three parts to analyze and expound.First,it explains the formation of Hockney’s painting style,and explores Hockney’s painting art in stages.From the inheritance and innovation of early painting,popism,cubism,and Chinese painting,He has formatted renewable and multiple methods and unique personal charm.The thesis transitions from the expression language of Hockney’s overall painting to the expression of watercolor painting.With the help of the analysis of Hockney’s watercolor paintings,we can understand the abstraction and space of the composition of the picture,the symbolization and decoration of the color language,and finally the author’s graduation creation “ Cornfield ” series elaboration.The creation elaboration is written from the perspectives of topic selection,conception,color selection,technique application,emotional language expression,and the impact of Hockney’s works on the author.I also hope to analyze the form characteristics of Hockney’s watercolor painting from the watercolor direction,so that Hockney’s watercolor painting research can provide a reference of creation for everyone.
