In the context of the continuous progress of globalization,international exchanges have become increasingly deeper,and the level of international cooperation has been continuously improved.It has also put forward new requirements for talents.At this stage,English is still the universal language,and English-based language learning is becoming more and more important,which plays an important role in the future development of vocational students.College English courses,which are public compulsory courses,are an important factor in training comprehensive sports talents.Based on this,this thesis takes "cases" as the carrier,takes Guangxi Sports College as the research object,takes the public English courses of vocational colleges as the teaching blueprint,and combines the teaching objectives to carry out case teaching in the real teaching activities.This thesis is based on situational learning theory,constructivist learning theory,humanism theory and second language acquisition theory as the theoretical guidance.It uses literature research to study the background and progress of case teaching and the relevant knowledge of case teaching.Analysis of the current situation of higher vocational English teaching in physical education colleges;using questionnaire survey methods,classroom observation methods and interview methods to study the current situation of case teaching,and analyzing the problems of case teaching methods in higher vocational English classroom teaching,and further proposing corresponding Suggestions and countermeasures in order to organically combine the improvement of students’ English ability and the cultivation of excellent sports talents in teaching,which not only helps to comprehensively improve students’ comprehensive qualities,but also contributes to the English teaching level of sports vocational colleges improve.This thesis mainly studies the specific application of the case teaching method in vocational English classes.The content includes six parts: The first part proposes the research background,research purpose and research significance from the perspectives of student needs and social needs.This thesis analyzes and summarizes the theory and experience of case teaching methods at home and abroad,defines the development status of case teaching methods,the currentsituation of English teaching in vocational college,and proposes research ideas and methods.The second part introduces the relevant theoretical foundation of case teaching method and core concepts,including situational learning theory,constructivism theory,humanism theory and second language acquisition theory.Then,The third part mainly expounds the factors that affect the implementation of case teaching methods from three aspects: teachers,students and schools.The fourth part is the investigation and analysis of the basic situation of case teaching method in the English teaching in higher vocational education.Through questionnaire survey design and implementation,interviews and classroom observations,the problems of case teaching method in higher vocational English classroom teaching were found.The fifth part is the empirical study of case teaching method in English teaching in vocational colleges.Taking the Guangxi Sports College as a case,the author conducted a two-month teaching practice for students of class 10-11 of the 2019 class of sports training in Guangxi Sports College,and analyzed the teaching effect to confirm the case teaching method for higher vocational English.Classroom teaching has positive effects and at the same time summarizes the existing problems.The sixth part summarizes the problems existing in the investigation and case teaching method after vocational education in English teaching in higher vocational education,and proposes corresponding optimization strategies from three aspects: teachers,students and school.
