In the middle Ming Dynasty,Wu Men school of calligraphy was active in Jiangsu area.Wang Chong,a representative calligrapher after Wen Zhengming and Zhu Yunming, bringing vitality and vigor to Wu Men style and offering inspiration for the later development of calligraphic art.Since he followed the style of writers in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, his calligraphic works, especially the regular script and running script in small characters, showed a tranquil, beautiful and detached spirit. In the light of the social background in Mid-Ming Dynasty, the thesis takes Wang Chong’s style development as the carrier and his circle of friends as the clue to discuss the aesthetic thought of Wang Chong himself,so as to explore the relationship between his style development and aesthetic psychology.
