The English curriculum standard of senior high school in China points out that writing is an important standard to measure students’ Comprehensive English ability.However,most English teachers focus on the learning of language knowledge,which lower the students’ writing interest.And students may have difficulties in how to write and what to write.Based on this situation,the author applies the method of "reading for writing" in English teaching of senior high school.The thesis is based on the Input Hypothesis,Output Hypothesis,Product-oriented Approach and Discourse Analysis to discuss whether this approach can improve students’ English writing level.The following questions are focused on: 1.What is the current situation of English Teaching in reading and writing of senior high school,and what are the problems? 2.How to effectively apply the method "reading for writing" in senior high school classroom and integrate it into our existing teaching? 3.What’s effect the method "reading for writing" can improve in students’ writing?In order to explore the above problems,the author plans to use the method of action research and selects two classes in senior two from Shanxi Province as the research objects to conduct a teaching research for four months.Before the action research,the author uses questionnaires and tests to know the students’ English writing situation;interview experienced teachers to know English teaching situation of senior high school,from the perspective of students and teachers respectively to understand the current English teaching situation of senior high school,so as to lay the foundation for action research later.After two rounds of action research compares and analyzes the relevant data collected in the action research.The research shows that:(1)The teacher adopts the teaching mode of separation of reading and writing in English teaching,which is not conducive to the improvement of students’ Comprehensive language ability;(2)The teacher applies the method "reading for writing" in senior high school,that is to say,teachers can analyze the structure,cohesion and coherence of reading texts,and learn the words and sentence patterns in articles as the input of students’ writing,which is conducive to students’ writing output;(3)The use of the method "reading for writing" canimprove their content,organization,vocabulary,language expression and etc.The inspiration of this study is that we can apply the method "reading for writing" in English teaching of senior high school,and promote the improvement of students’ writing through reading learning,so as to improve students’ ability of learning for application.However,this method can not solve all the problems and should be adjusted according to the actual situation.
