Spatial Differentiation And Optimization Strategies Of Rural Territorial Functions In Henan Province

Rural territory is an important space for human production and life.With the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization in China,a large amount of high-quality farmland in the countryside is being occupied,the number of agricultural labor force is being reduced,agricultural civilization and rural culture are being affected,and traditional functions such as agricultural production and cultural heritage in rural territory are being weakened.At the same time,resources such as water,soil and energy are over-consumed and causes serious environmental problems.The ecological function in rural territory has received unprecedented attention because of rural vast natural space.In recent years,relying on the original ecological natural landscape and rural culture,the rural tourism is prospering,and the tourism leisure function in rural territory is gradually enhanced.In the context of the comprehensive implementation of the Rural Revitalization Strategy,rural multiple values and functions will be further highlighted.The research on rural territorial multifunction is of great significance to promote sustainable development of rural territory in light of local conditions.This paper takes Henan Province,which has prominent advantages in population,agriculture,culture and tourism resources as well as diverse rural development environments,as an example.Taking county as the basic unit,the thesis constructs the rural territorial multifunctional evaluation index system which contains functions such as agricultural production,economic development,dwelling and living,ecological conservation,cultural heritage and tourism leisure.Using data in 2017,the Spatial Autocorrelation model,Jenks,the Theil index,related analysis,cluster analysis and other methods,the spatial agglomeration characteristics,spatial differentiation characteristics and interactions of rural territorial functions in Henan are analyzed and then rural territory in Henan is classified as different types.Furthermore,functional optimization strategies are provided,which provide references to promote the rural overall revitalization in the decisive period of comprehensively building a well-off society.This paper contains seven chapters.The first three chapters are the basis of the research,the next three chapters are the main contents of the research,and the last chapter is the summary of this paper.Specifically,the chapter 1 is the preface,which mainly includes the research background and significance,research contents and technical route.The chapter 2 mainly introduces basic concepts,related theories and research progress at home and abroad.The chapter 3 introduces the research area,methods and data in this paper.The chapter 4 discusses in detail the spatial agglomeration characteristics,hierarchical distribution characteristics,regional differences and interactions of rural territorial multifunction in Henan.The Chapter 5 identifies the territorial types of rural multifunction in Henan,and analyzes the functional resultant characteristics and regional development backgrounds of different territorial types.On this basis,optimization strategies for rural territorial functions in Henan are proposed in chapter 6.The chapter 7 summarizes the main conclusions of this paper,points out the innovations and shortcomings of this paper,and finally proposes future research directions.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The rural territorial functions in Henan Province have obvious characteristics of spatial differentiation and spatial agglomeration.The counties with high agricultural production function are mainly distributed in the North China Plain and Nanyang Basin.The counties with high economic development function are mainly distributed around the urban agglomeration in central Henan.The distribution of counties with high dwelling and living function is probably consistent with that of counties with high economic development function,with wider space.The counties with high ecological conservation function are mainly distributed in the mountainous and hilly areas of western and southern Henan.The counties with high cultural heritage function are relatively scattered,with the most prominent counties including Xun county in northern Henan,Jia county and Baofeng county in central Henan.The counties with high tourism leisure function are mainly distributed in the Taihang-Wangwu Mountains,Mountains in western Henan and Dabie Mountains.(2)The gap among counties of tourism leisure function is the largest,while the gap among counties of dwelling and living function is the smallest.The county differences of northern Henan and western Henan are relatively consistent with entire Henan,while the county differences between southern Henan and entire Henan are the largest.The differences of rural territorial functions within the five sub-regions are more significant than those among the five subregions.The southern Henan has a greater impact on regional internal differences of agricultural production function,ecological conservation function,cultural heritage function and tourism leisure function,while the central Henan impacts more on the regional internal differences of other functions.(3)There are significant interactions between rural territorial functions.At present,the proportion of conflict,synergy and compatibility among the rural territorial functions in Henan is in balance.The conflict between ecological conservation function and other functions is the most prominent,the synergy between cultural heritage function and other functions is the most obvious,and agricultural production function is most compatible with other functions.(4)There are seven rural multifunctional territorial types in Henan: Balanced development zone,agricultural production advantage zone,livable zone for economic development,ecological conservation advantage zone,cultural heritage advantage zone,tourism leisure advantage zone and eco-tourism zone.Different territorial types have different combinations of functional mean values and regional development backgrounds.(5)The rural territory in Henan should jointly follow the basic optimization goals of “guaranteeing grain and food safety,protecting the ecological environment,improving living spaces,and inheriting rural culture”,and adopt different functional optimization strategies according to local conditions.
