| In recent years,some documentary films that promote the country’s mainstream ideology have exploded.From the “To reform in the end”,“Rule of Law in China” to “Sword Inspection”,“Making Armed Forces Powerful”,“Great Power Diplomacy”,“Amazing China”,these works are almost excellent mainstream documentary.In June 2018,the State Administration of Radio and Television issued a notice on the implementation of the “New Era” documentary creative communication project.Entering the “New Era of Recording” and actively promoting mainstream ideology is still the creative direction of documentaries.During the development of this project from 2018 to 2022,how to make a new breakthrough in the creation of mainstream documentary around important time nodes and major propaganda themes is a question that must be considered.Facing the country’s advocacy,the mainstream media represented by CCTV took the lead in responding,and created a series of mainstream documentaries around the important time point of the forty years of reform and opening up: “Inevitable Course”,and “Let’s Walk Together-A Tribute to the Forty Years of Reform and Opening Up”,“The 40 th Anniversary of Chinese Film Since China’s Reform And Opening-Up”,“Forty Years of Xiaogang Family in National Memory”,“News 1 + 1 Dream-Chase Times”.This paper takes this series of documentaries as the research object,takes narratology as the main theoretical basis,and combines the research results of film and television narratology as the theoretical support of the article.It uses a comprehensive analysis of document analysis,case analysis,and text analysis to analyze this series of documentaries.Using it as a sample to explore the narrative features of mainstream documentary of “Recording a New Era”.This thesis mainly analyzes the image narrative of mainstream documentary from the aspects of narrative perspective,theme construction,narrative structure,spatiotemporal clues,audiovisual language,discourse construction,and value expression.Through analysis,the thesis considers that the mainstream documentary should balance the elite perspective,the civilian perspective and the other perspective in the narrative perspective;In the narrative structure,we should use the overlapping style of interlacing and multiple narrative structures to enrich the sense of hierarchy and logic of the work;In the language of the picture,we must pay attention to the use of multiple montages,high-frequency overhead lenses,and digital technology to present the visual landscape;In terms of discourse construction,it is necessary to construct political discourse,cultural discourse,and international discourse through dimensions such as stories,words,and images to realize the audience’s value recognition at the consensus level;In terms of value expression,we must pay attention to shaping the image of a great power to the,and to convey the national spirit and the spirit of the time and build people’s identity and group memory.The success of this series of documentaries in video narratives has made viewers deeply aware that "hard" theme melodies can also become "soft".In the future,the mainstream documentary will need to continue to innovate in image narratives,advance with the times,and create theme themes that are close to the lives of ordinary people,in order to gradually penetrate the hearts of people,and then get the common recognition and affirmation of local and foreign audiences. |
