Zhao Chang’s Study On Chinese Flower-and-bird Painting

In the early Northern Sung Dynasty,due to the painters’ long-term imitation of the style of the Huang School is of Noble Elegance in the Five Dynasties,they paid more attention to their form and ignored the importance of sketching flower-and-bird,which led to the slow development of flower-and-bird.At this time,Zhao chang advocated returning to the way of sketching,absorbing the essence of the Five Dynasty of Xu Huang’s Flower Painting,and integrating his own personality characteristics to form his own unique art style of flower-and-bird painting.This article analyzes Zhao Chang’s life and artistic characteristics by combing related ancient books and documents.And the historical background of Xu Huang’s Flower painting,combined with the work to demonstrate its influence on Zhao Chang’s flower-and-bird painting,analyzes the inspiration of his creative life by painting practice.This article starts from the following three aspects:The first part is "Inheritance and Development of Zhao Chang Flower-and-Bird Painting".This part sorts out his life and teacher,and then analyzes the artistic characteristics of it.The second part is "the sketching spirit of Zhao Chang’s Flower-and-Bird Painting".This part combines related works to further analyze it of his painting,and takes his work as an example to demonstrate the specific expression of his sketching spirit in the work.The third part is "Practice and Continuation of My Flower-and-Bird Painting Creation".This part takes my creative practice as the starting point,and expounds the inspiration of Zhao Chang’s flower-and-bird painting to his creation.
