A Case Study On Alleviating Anxiety Of Parents Of Children With Amblyopia

Amblyopia,as a disease affecting children’s visual development,is a threat to children’s visual health in China and has attracted wide attention from all walks of life.Amblyopia treatment is a long and boring process,which needs to fully mobilize the strength of society,hospitals,schools and families to provide a good environment for rehabilitation treatment of amblyopia children.Especially,children with amblyopia are generally younger.As the main interveners of amblyopia treatment,parents’ mentality and coping style in the treatment process of accompanying their children are important factors affecting the treatment.However,the current medical model is difficult to meet the needs of parents of children with amblyopia,which requires medical social workers to intervene and provide professional services for them.Based on the practice of medical social work in F Hospital of YunNan Province,we found that the parents of amblyopic children have great psychological pressure and anxiety.The anxiety of 47 parents of children with Amblyopia was assessed by questionnaire,and through the interview to understand the causes of their anxiety and parents’ anxiety on the treatment and daily life of children with adverse effects.On this basis,two typical cases were selected for intervention.In this study,we applied the theory of rational emotive therapy and social support to alleviate the anxiety of parents of children with Amblyopia.Through changing parents’ wrong cognition of Amblyopia and correcting their irrational belief in Amblyopia treatment,the anxiety of Amblyopia children can be alleviated.At the same time,to help parents of children with Amblyopia to build social support network,enhance social support,and further alleviate anxiety.In order to improve the Amblyopia children’s parents in the physical,psychological,emotional,social support problems.The results show that case work can provide personalized professional services for parents of children with amblyopia,and rational emotional therapy and social support theory have unique advantages in solving their anxiety problems.In this study,parents of children with amblyopia are mainly used to improve the rehabilitation treatment environment of children with amblyopia.The intervention at other levels is not deepenough,and further services are needed.
