| Southeast Asia has a large ethnic Chinese population.As one of the destination countries for immigration,the Philippines has a long history of Chinese immigration.According to the "Chinese Overseas Chinese Blue Book: Overseas Chinese Studies Report 2013",there are nearly 1.62 million overseas ethnic Chinese in the Philippines.Among the Chinese communities in Southeast Asia,Chinese Filipinos have a high degree of integration into the mainstream society,and they have integrated into the local society well in all aspects of economy,politics,culture,and life.So,what is the language identity of the ethnic Chinese ? What about their cultural identity? What impact will their language attitude and language recognition have on the International Communication of Chinese?In the current era of the international communication of Chinese,ethnic Chinese are the users of standard Chinese and Chinese variants.Knowing the language use,language attitude,and language identity of ethnic Chinese in the Philippines is of great significance to the development of local Chinese international promotion.The author carried out a research on the study of Chinese Philippine language identity in the Cebu region of the Philippines.Taking the Sacred Heart School of Ateneo de Cebu as an example,during the research process,the author used questionnaires,participation observations,interviews and other methods to participate in the survey.Chinese families in China collected data,and public opinion on their language use,language attitude,and language identity.And process and analyze the collected data,and public opinion.In the Cebu,about 6 languages coexist in the social life.The survey results show that English has a strong position in the language life of local ethnic Chinese,standard Chinese and Fujian dialect are also very important in the social life for ethnic Chinese.In the process of investigating the local Chinese’s language attitude towards standard Chinese,the author found that with the growth of intergenerational Chinese,the identification of emotional attitudes towards standard Chinese has a decreasing trend,but the expectations of the new generation of Chinese on their future Chinese ability are relatively low.Higher in the older generation of Chinese.Different generations of Chinese people have different practical attitudes towards Chinese.Moreover,the survey shows that the Chinese of the older generation have a higher degree of identification with Chinese than the Chinese of the new generation.The macro factors of the international communication of Chinese include China’s comprehensive national strength,the cultural and communication value of Chinese,local language and Chinese policies,and the size of the population learning and using Chinese.It can be seen that ethnic Chinese,as the main population in the Philippines who learn and use Chinese,is an important factor in the international communication of Chinese.The decrease in the frequency of Chinese use and the decrease in language recognition are important for the international communication of Chinese.influences. |
