| With the process of "Chinese Fever" in recent years,a growing number of ethnic Chinese starts to learn Chinese.Various national and overseas organizations and departments have held different activities to promote overseas Chinese to learn Chinese in a vigorous way.The Philippine famous Filipino Chinese leader Mr.Chen Yongzai constantly sponsored Chinese learning summer camp “China,Search for Roots” for seventeen sessions to support Filipino Chinese youth to learn Chinese and culture in China.The survey objective is the campers from the 1st team to the 05 th team of the 17 th summer camp this time,discussing the Filipino Chinese youth current Chinese usage status,language attitudes,effect factors and other issues through the language usage status and cultural identity questionnaire survey.It figured out that: Filipino Chinese youth all acquire two or above languages,they choose the different language based on the occasions / objects / personal preferences in their daily life-the highest frequency of usage is English and Filipino,and the following is Chinese,while other languages are relatively less frequently used.On the basis of afore mentioned usage status,the value and class comment of English is the highest one;second is Filipino.As for Chinese,the mandarin is paid more and more attention.Moreover,many Filipino Chinese still uses their ancestral home local dialect to communicate.No matter on emotion or on cognition,most of the students have the positive and identity attitude to Chinese.However,they lag behind in action that they have a poor active on learning Chinese hard and improving Chinese level.In addition,The new generation Filipino Chinese students have a lower sense of cultural identity as a whole,but compared with the non-Filipino Chinese students,the Filipino Chinese students have a much stronger sense of belongings.The student language using status is mostly effect by the school education,family and social environment,as well as the survey results reflect the Chinese education status in Philippines to a certain extent.Therefore,the thesis puts forward some suggestions for the development of Filipino Chinese education,and hope to provide some references for the further development of Filipino Chinese education. |
