Abstract/Summary:
At the request of the government,Zhejiang Meorient Company sets up an academy project and launches corresponding live-stream courses.The course mainly invites successful leaders from the chambers of commerce,entrepreneurs and other successful people in certain fields from the countries involved in the company’s international exhibitions.This course has lasted for 5 days,from 23 to 27 September2019,and there is only one course per day.The speakers of the courses come from India,Dubai,Egypt and other countries.The courses range from textile,gift,building materials to home furnishing and other industries.The author of this report acts as an interpreter for these courses,providing consecutive interpreting for domestic foreign trade professionals.This report selects the courses of the Chairman of Indian Chamber of Commerce,Dubai entrepreneurs and a senior economist in Egypt as the interpreting materials.In the practice of interpretation,the interpreter often applies the theme-rheme theory to solve the difficulties.With the help of Halliday’s detailed division of thematic structure,the interpreter understands the thematic differences,so as to efficiently find the theme which can accurately and timely divide the original text structure.The report is divided into five parts: the first part introduces the background,source,features,objectives and significance of the interpreting task;the second part describes preparation,interpreting implementation,and post-interpreting issues;the third part is theoretical framework which mainly elaborates the theme-rheme theory and their application;the fourth part presents case studies which explains the interpreter’s application of theories and strategies in real interpreting;and the fifth part summarizes the report,finding out problems and getting inspiration.
