Research On The Localization Of Latin American Figurative Paintings In The Twentieth Century

Latin America is an ancient civilized region with rich historical and cultural connotations and art heritage.Due to the remote geographical distance and the cultural and linguistic obstacles,And its available content in China is currently rare,which does not match the due role of its artistic value.In the 20 th century,Latin American artists had made unique,outstanding,and thought-provoking contributions in human plastic arts.Therefore,this paper regards the localization of Latin American figurative paintings as the focus.By dividing different ways of expression and artistic ideas,it profoundly sets forth Latin America’s unique artistic achievements and values in the 20 th century from four aspects.This paper expounds on the local characteristics of Latin American figurative paintings in the 20 th century based on three aspects: the diversified local nature of Latin America,the local perspective of post-colonialism,as well as the local spirit and consciousness against oppression.Therefore,this paper mainly researches the art of Latin America based on the artistic languages or views of artists and their works in a specific historical environment.By making comparisons and giving examples,it elaborates on the inheritance and development of Latin American arts.Besides,it analyzes artists’ shaping of self-identity and the change of art forms to reveal the historical task of post-colonial artists in rediscovering society,race,and mankind and carrying forward the cultural traditions of their nations.Moreover,it refines the spiritual connotation of Latin American paintings from the ideological consciousnesses of the nationalist trend of thought,cultural root seeking,and Pan-Latin America.Finally,the author hopes to broaden people’s understanding of Latin American art and its instructive role in the development of Chinese contemporary art by setting forth the localization,continuity,historicity,and particularity of Latin American figurative paintings in the 20 th century.
