Vocabulary is the most basic content in English learning,so its importance is self-evident.The vocabulary mastery has a great impact on their abilities of listening,speaking,reading and writing.Especially for junior middle school students,with the sudden increase of the vocabulary,they need to master and memorize much more words.It has become a headache for them.In recent years,as a tool of visualization and divergent thinking,mind mapping has attracted many researchers’ attention.So what effect does it have on vocabulary learning?Bases on the teaching method of mind mapping and theories of constructivism and knowledge visualization,the thesis uses questionnaire,interview and experimental research to solve the following problems: Whether the application of mind mapping in vocabulary teaching can improve the students’ interest and efficiency in vocabulary learning;Can it have a positive impact on the students’ abilities of reading,translation and writing.In order to answer and verify these topics,the author selects two parallel classes in grade seven and took them as the experimental objects,then according to the analysis and discussion of the data and information collects by the comparative experiment,we can draw a conclusion: as a tool of visualization and divergent thinking,mind mapping can greatly improve junior middle school students’ vocabulary learning,and have a positive impact on their reading,translation and writing learning. |
