Zhaxi Dawa’s Ethnographic Writing And Reflection On Modernity

Zhaxi Dawa is an outstanding Tibetan writer in China.His works show the writer’s exploration of ethnic psychology and spirit through a great deal of description of Tibetan geographical environment and human landscape,it shows the writer’s ethnic writing position and the writing mode of ethnography.In addition,through the window of ethnic writing,the writer has expanded his vision to the all mankind.While deconstructing and interpreting the Tibetan spiritual culture,he has caused a reflection on the modern development of the spiritual civilization of all mankind,it has the writing dimension and research value of literary anthropology.The writing of the ethnic group is a process of rediscovering and reconstructing the nation.First of all,in the course of his creation,Zhaxi Dawa always focused on the unique geographical features of Tibet,which made his literary creation have the basis of writing ethnography based on fieldwork,it shows obvious features of ethnographic writing.Secondly,the interpretation of culture is an important channel for writers to explore the ethnic development and ethnic psychological process.The Tibetan people have a long history of religious culture and primitive worship,the former represented by the Tibetan Buddhism and the latter handed down from generation to generation by the traditional Ben-religion and primitive myths.They are included in the writer’s writing content and writing mode,which has the dual significance of identification and reflection,while folk-custom as the cultural elements of the original ecological cultural landscape of the Tibetan are presented,together with religion and belief,they constitute the factors that the writer has effectively interpreted the Tibetan culture,for the construction of a modern ethnic culture has played a positive role in promoting.Thirdly,the characters are the soul of Zhaxi Dawa’s creation.In the opposite writing of the religious worshipers and the "rebels",the author once again questioned and reflected on the National Religious Culture;While the lonely aristocrats and the unique symbolic individuals are the witnesses of the development of the ethnic soul,the abstract and unique individual not only reposes the author’s vision for the future of the nation,but also expresses his extensive concern for the spiritual civilization of all mankind.Finally,Zhaxi Dawa’s ethnographic writing is always based on the ethnic writing position and the human position,through self-examination and identification of the nation,this paper puts forward a new construction "plan" for the ethnic spirit and ethniccharacter under the influence of modern civilization and globalization,that is,to deal with the crisis of the expression of local culture with a confident ethnic attitude,adhere to the concept of seeking common ground while reserving differences,actively integrate into the global cultural construction,and make use of the universal spiritual culture to explore a way out for ethnic development.
