The Study Of Country Writing In Esenin’s Poetry

Sergei Alexandrovich Esenin(Сергей Александрович Есенин)(1895-1925),is the pride of the Russian poet in the 20 th century,and he is one of the founders of the poetry in the Soviet Union.In his short and turbulent life,the poet has created more than 300 poems,among which the poems with the theme of countryside and peasants account for the majority,which have high artistic value and aesthetic implication,and constitute his eye-catching rural writing.Domestic research on Russian rural writing is mainly aimed at the classic writers in the 19 th century.In recent years,the academic circle has begun to pay attention to the rural writing in the middle and late 20 th century,while there is a certain degree of neglect of the rural writing in the early 20 th century,and Esenin was born at this time,so he and his rural writing also have received little attention.In addition,the academic research on Esenin mainly focuses on "motherland and hometown","natural ecological consciousness","suicide",and usually analyzes from the traditional perspectives of revolution,peasant class,and ecological criticism.Generally speaking,there are some problems in the research,such as repetitive contents,single research angle and fixed research methods,which lead to a certain degree of research vacancy.Taking the rural writing in Esenin’s poems as the research object,this paper explores the characteristics of his rural writing,the relationship between village writing and the process of Russian modernization,and the significance of his village writing through the method of close reading of poetry texts and the related theories of modernity.This paper comprises four parts:Part one is the introduction,which recommends the poet and his works,then explains the research motivation and puts forward some questions,then summarizes and briefly reviews the research status at domestic and overseas,and briefly introduces the basic content of this paper.Then the body part:Chapter one takes the important time influence points in the era of great changes and the style transformation period of the poet for staging Esenin’s rural writing,expounds the three stages of the change of lyric identity and the change of poetic style,and then sorts out the content and theme of his rural writing to understand the overall style and main contents of Esenin’s rural writing.In the second chapter,we can find out the characteristics of asymmetry in the landscape rendering and lyrical psychological confrontation between the countryside and the city,and then examine the text structure of binary opposition.Furthermore,from the choice of subject,utterance,image and rhetoric by standing in the position of villages and peasants,we can see the way of expression of peasants’ standard consciousness,and reveal the underlying structure and presentation of his rural writing.The third chapter focuses on the key words of the poet’s emotional experience of the process of Russian modernization and the recurring consciousness of "returning home" in the poetry,for the sake of comprehending the uniqueness of the poet’s rural writing and examining the significance of his rural writing.One is the confusion and uncertainty of Russian modernization;The second is sadness and the one-sidedness of Russian modernization;The third part expounds the lyrical mode of "temporary departure" and "late return",and through the above three aspects,revealing the profound significance of his village writing on the reflection of Russian modernization,reflection on its onesidedness and resistance to the negative consequences of Russian modernization.Finally,the conclusion part summarizes the uniqueness and significance of Esenin’s rural writing.This paper aims to study the country writing in Esenin’s poems,for more deeply understanding of Esenin’s rural writing content,more profoundly analyzing the uniqueness of his rural writing,more clearly understanding of the complete picture of Russian country writing in the early 20 th century,more thoroughly grasping the modernization of the Russian state in the early 20 th century,and this also has the realistic enlightenment function to our country’s modernization construction.
