Investigation And Analysis On Intercultural Adaptation Of Pakistani Students In Henan

With the world globalization and the Belt and Road Initiative,the number of overseas students in Henan has been increasing year by year,among which the number of foreign students from Pakistan has been increasing significantly.In order to investigate and analyze the intercultural adaptation of Pakistani students in Henan,the author took Pakistani students from some universities in Xinxiang City and Zhengzhou City of Henan Province as the object of this investigation,and took social interaction(We Chat interaction),sociocultural adaptation and psychological adaptation as the main content of the survey.The investigation of social interaction is mainly realized by investigating the usage habits and internal data of We Chat.The purpose of this investigation is to understand the impact of social interaction and social support in virtual network on intercultural adaptation,and the investigation of digital data in software more accurately and objectively than the subjective comments by respondents.The investigation of sociocultural adaptation and psychological adaptation is based on the previous research and combined with the purpose of this research,a five-degree scale and a four-degree scale were made respectively,and analyze the scores of each statement item in the two scales.The following conclusions are drawn through the analysis by the investigation of questionnaire and interview.First,the social relations in the virtual network of the respondents can be divided into groups according to the type and nationality(place of residence)and the degree of their relationship:Groups(or Subscriptions),Chinese,Pakistanis(in China),Pakistanis(not in China)and other countries,and there are significant differences in the number and frequency of interaction from each groups.Second,respondents generally have slight problems in their sociocultural and psychological adaptation,which aresignificantly correlated with some variables in the We Chat interaction(Eg.there was a significant correlation between the sociocultural adaptation and the number of We Chat contacts,etc.).Thirdly,no significant correlation was found between the respondents’ sociocultural adaptation and psychological adaptation by this investigation(P=0.093 > 0.05).As to the results of this investigation,the author puts forward some suggestions from three aspects: social school and individual.The shortcoming of this investigation is the small sample size,so after the questionnaire investigation,the interview investigation is used as a supplement.But this investigation has preliminarily explored the investigation of social interaction through We Chat,and proved the feasibility and advantages of this method,which is expected to contribute to the research of intercultural adaptation.
