The chivalrous spirit of the Chinese nation has a long history.The heroes in ancient myths and legends conquer nature and benefit mankind.Their simple morality and heroic spirit of self sacrifice have always inspired future generations.Because of all kinds of injustice in the world and the influence of the external living environment,the people at the bottom of the society call for the power that can relieve the crisis and help the justice.Chivalrous people are elegant and extraordinary,generous and admire righteousness,have conscience,have a strong sense of justice and bravery.They can get rid of all difficulties,keep promises,uphold justice and loose wealth,act bravely,help the poor,punish the strong and help the weak,get rid of the cruel and pacify the good people,fight against injustice,uphold justice,help people in trouble in a hurry,do not expect to repay kindness,ready to stand out for justice,save the endangered country,sacrifice their lives for benevolence and righteousness,be unconcerned with morality and ability,unruly and uninhibited,Give hope to the oppressed,the poor,the ignorant.The chivalrous spirit of ancient China is endless,which nourishes the heart of Chinese people.This spirit is needed in any era and is an indispensable part of the spirit of traditional Chinese culture.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part briefly discusses the chivalry spirit of the Xia and chivalry literature before Tang Dynasty.It mainly talks about the hero in myth and legend,the chivalry spirit of the ancient Xia in the pre Qin period,the chivalry spirit of the chivalry in the Han Dynasty,and the chivalry spirit of the chivalry of the Ghost Novels,as well as the influence on the chivalry spirit of the chivalry in the novels of the Tang Dynasty and similarities of the Confucianism,Mohism and Taoism on the chivalry spirit.The second part discusses the chivalrous spirit throughout the Tang Dynasty.Before the rebellion of An Shi,the chivalrous spirit of striving and making contributions under the influence of the ruler’s martial arts and chivalry.It focuses on all kinds of chivalrous spirit in the novels of Tang Dynasty and the important function of the chivalrous man’s martial arts to chivalry and the destination of seclusion.The third part talks about the influence of chivalry spirit in the novels of Tang Dynasty on the later generations,focusing on the relationship between chivalry and officials and the choices and contributions made by chivalry in the national crisis.When they met corrupt and traitorous officials,the chivalrous men came out to fight against injustice.When they met the respectable chivalrous men were invisible,harmless,and even helped them out of trouble until the chivalrous men of the Qing Dynasty and the officials of the Qing Dynasty mingled.Chivalrous men show a strong sense of responsibility and great compassion for the country and the people.The conclusion part summarizes the call of the times and the people for the chivalrous spirit,which is indispensable in any era.Today’s society still has the modern chivalrous spirit.
