A Semantic Study Of “Meimei” In Modern Chinese

Modern Chinese adverbs are very important and have high research value.On the basis of summarizing the previous research results,this thesis will explore the modern Chinese adverb"meimei（每每）"as far as possible,and try to put forward some opinions.In this thesis,it is considered that"meimei"has two semantic functions,that is,it can be the sum operator or an adverb of frequency or probability.The former adds up the related components to obtain the maximized complex set,similar to"meici/hui（每次/回）";the latter is equivalent to"changchang（常常）"or"wangwang（往往）",which modifies the frequency or probability of the related components.For the sake of ease of expression,this thesis will write the sum operator as"meimei₁（每每₁）",and write frequency or probability adverbs as"meimei₂（每每₂）".This thesis mainly expounds and analyzes"meimei₁"and"meimei₂"in detail from the aspects of distribution,semantic function,semantic requirements and licensing conditions,co-occurrence and style selection.This thesis is divided into the following six parts:The first part is the introduction,which briefly explains the research object and significance of this paper,and introduces the main research content of this paper.The second part is the literature review,which mainly summarizes the previous comparative research on"meimei",related near-meaning expression,"meimei"and near-meaning expression.Our predecessors have made a detailed analysis of"meimei"and"mei（每）","mei（mei）"and"chang（chang）""wangwang"from grammatical,semantic,pragmatic and other aspects.The third part is an in-depth analysis of the semantics of"meimei₁".The sum operator"meimei₁" is studied mainly from the aspects of distribution,semantic function,semantic requirements and licensing conditions,co-occurrence and style selection."Meimei₁"as sum operator to the related events expression for adduct object,to add its operation,so as to maximize the plural event set,it is by means of characteristics,requirements and at the same time of the event on the semantics is the plural of expression,to establish the matching relation between both.The fourth part is an in-depth analysis of the semantics of"meimei₂".This thesis mainly studies the frequency or probability adverb"meimei₂"from the aspects of distribution,semantic function,semantic requirements and co-occurrence,and the choice of style.The judgment of frequency or probability adverb can be carried out by the way of frequency calculation and probability calculation.The fifth part is the comparative study of"meimei"and near-meaning expression.Mainly from the distribution,semantic features,semantic requirements and licensing conditions to be of"meimei₁（……）"and"meici/hui""meidang/dao/feng（每当/到/逢……）","meimei₂"and"changchang,wangwang"comparative analysis,it can be seen that often"meimei_{1（……）}"and"meici/hui""meidang/feng……"on the semantic closer,"meimei₂"and"changchang"semantic closer.The sixth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the research contents and main points of this paper about "meimei".
