Since Confucius,Confucianism is divided into eight.The Confucianism of Mencius and the Confucianism of Xunzi made Confucianism visible in the world.Since ancient times,scholars have studied the literary ideas and literary characteristics of the two Confucianists.In recent years,the academic community has gradually focused on the literary performance of Mencius and Xunzi,but unfortunately based on literature From the literary point of view,there is no comparative study on the similarities and differences of the characters,language arts,and essay styles of Mencius and Xunzi,so as to highlight their respective uniqueness.Therefore,the author intends to explore the performance of the literary similarities and differences between Mencius and Xunzi on the basis of previous studies and the reasons for their formation,as well as the revelation of the significance of the comparison between the two to the development of later literature.This thesis is divided into two parts: introduction and body.The introduction part expounds the research status,research methods and the definition of "literature" and "literality" in the articles of "Mencius" and "Xunzi".The body part is composed of three chapters and Yulun.The first chapter is a comparative study of the literary features in Mencius and Xunzi,comparing the image,language and style in their articles,revealing the universality and particularity.The thesis believes that although Xunzi’s article is related to "Mencius" in terms of image formation,language use and style,it is more innovative than "Mencius" on this basis:the appearance of "king" is contrasted with the appearance Virtue is more rational in shaping the image of "Confucius" and the "ritual" is the most important evaluation of "Shi";in language art,"Xunzi" uses double "metaphor" to clarify his point of view and "comparison" To deepen the sense of weight of one’s own views,and to debate in the form of "step by step" and "shall be reasonable";Chapter 2 discusses the subjective and objective causes of the literary similarities and differences between Mencius and Xunzi.The thesis holds that the personality factor is the subjective cause of the literary difference between Mencius and Xunzi,that is,Mencius ’s pride,self-confidence,Xunzi ’s outspokenness,and humility are the subjective factors of the literary similarities and differences between the two.Among them,Mencius andXunzi The literary thought is also an important factor that constitutes the literary similarities and differences between the two articles,and the background,experience,and friendship of Mencius and Xunzi are the objective causes of the formation of the literary similarities and differences between Mencius and Xunzi;Chapter 3 focuses on The enlightenment given to future generations by the literary character of Mencius and Xunzi is analyzed,and it is concluded that the literacy of the works created by Mencius and Xunzi has an important influence on the self-cultivation,state-run feelings,and article style of later literati.in conclusion.These conclusions allow us to have a clearer understanding of the literary nature of the articles written by Mencius and Xunzi and the infectious power of their texts,and also provide some valuable references for future generations to study the literary nature of the works of Mencius and Xunzi.
