The Study On The Morpheme Meaning Discordant Compound Words

Taking modern Chinese Dictionary(6th edition)as the corpus source,this paper collects and sorts the words with opposite and contradictory relations among morphemes,and names these words as Morpheme meaning discordant compound words,and divides them into two categories according to the determination of the meaning terms: complete dissonance and partial dissonance.The number of morpheme meaning discordant compound words is small,and the structure of them is biased.The formation of morpheme-meaning disharmonious compound words into words is a common function of many aspects,which is not only influenced by the general rule of Chinese word formation and the analogy mechanism of language,but also related to the needs of social development and people’s psychological needs,and is also closely related to the "tolerance principle" of language.With the development of language and the extension of word meaning,the relationship between morphemes is also changing.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part is the introduction,including the first chapter and the second chapter.The first chapter mainly explains the reason of the topic,introduces the research summary related to it,the research significance and research methods of the article.The second chapter introduces the selection criteria and procedures of corpus in detail.It includes the selection of research materials,the definition of morpheme dissonance and the determination of morpheme into word meaning.The second part is the main part of the thesis,including the third chapter,the fourth chapter.The third chapter classifies morpheme meaning dissonant compound words into two categories: complete dissonance and partial dissonance,and analyzes the forms of dissonance of these words in combination with reference books such as Shuo Wen Jie Zi,Chinese Character Source Dictionary,Zi Yuan as well as corpus.The fourth chapter discusses the features,causes and mechanisms of morpheme semantic discordant compound words,including the small number of morpheme items,the dominant words with biased structure,and the existence of the opposite and opposite harmonious words.The formation mechanism of morpheme incongruous compound words is closelyrelated to word formation by analogy,which is not only related to the psychology of seeking symmetry and simplicity of language users,but also closely related to practical needs,Chinese pragmatic rhetoric and the tolerance principle of language.The third part is the conclusion of the thesis,which is the fifth chapter of the thesis,which briefly describes the research conclusion of this paper,the development trend of morpheme incongruent compound words and the shortcomings of this research.
