Adolescence is a key stage of a person’s physical and mental development.The mental health of junior high school students in rural boarding schools is one of the focuses of the rural basic education reform process.This study taked 903 boarders of a junior high school under the jurisdiction of a certain urban area of Nanning Guangxi as the research object.The questionnaire survey was used to investigate the status of social support,loneliness,and subjective well-being of boarding junior high school students,and to explore the influence of social support and loneliness on subjective well-being of junior high school students.This study was divided into two parts.Study 1 used the “Youth Social Support Scale”,“Boarder Loneliness Scale”,and “Youth Subjective WellBeing Scale” to conduct tests.Based on the first study,the second study selected 24 junior high school students with high loneliness,divided them into an experimental group and a control group,and tried to reduce the loneliness and improve their subjective happiness through group psychological counseling.The main conclusions of this study:(1)Rural boarding junior high school students’ social support has significant differences in gender and grade.The scores of boys are significantly lower than those of girls.The scores of the first grade are significantly higher than the scores of the second and third grades.There are no significant differences in grades;rural boarding junior middle school students have significant differences in loneliness and subjective wellbeing in grades,and the scores of loneliness,rejection of others,feelings of loneliness and acceptance by others are significantly higher than those of junior and junior The scores of the second grade,but the scores of subjective well-being and all dimensions in the first grade are significantly higher than the scores of the second and third grades;rural boarding junior high school students are rejected by others,freedom satisfaction,school satisfaction and family satisfaction Degrees and other dimensions have significant differences in gender.Girls’ scores are significantly higher than boys’ scores in the other people’s rejection and school satisfaction dimensions,while boys’ average scores for family satisfaction and freedom satisfaction are significantly higher than girls’ average scores.(2)Social support and subjective well-being of rural boarding junior high school students were significantly positively correlated,and loneliness was significantly negatively related to social support and subjective well-being.(3)The social support of rural boarding junior high school students can not only predict subjective well-being directly,but also predict subjective well-being through the mediating effect of loneliness,that is,loneliness plays a part of the mediating role between social support and subjective well-being.(4)Group psychological counseling has a significant intervention effect on people with high loneliness.The scores of loneliness and its dimensions in the experimental group are significantly different from those in the control group.(5)Group psychological counseling can improve the subjective well-being of rural boarding junior high school students.The experimental group has significant differences in subjective well-being,academic satisfaction,freedom satisfaction,happiness,and scores in the control group,but environmental satisfaction,family satisfaction and friendship satisfaction.were no significant differences in degree.
