| With the development of the cultural industry,the music industry,as an important part of the cultural industry,has gradually attracted attention.Digital music has brought structural changes to the music industry,technological innovation has reduced the cost of music production and distribution,and DIY has gradually shifted from cultural practice.The practical means to survive for musicians has also become a new way of working for musicians and a music career that can earn a living.This article analyzes the work and career of DIY musicians,discusses the practical process and working characteristics of DIY musicians,the reasons why musicians choose DIY and how to understand DIY careers,and discusses the opportunities facing DIY careers in the context of the Chinese music industry And challenges.First,I observed the practice activities of DIY musicians through online ethnography and field observation methods,and found that the work of DIY musicians has three characteristics: the first is collaborative innovation,DIY musicians need to engage in a lot of creative work,such as creation,performance,etc.,And through collaboration with friends or fans;the second is to rely on DIY networks,informal mutual aid networks and social capital play a relatively key role in the process of music recording and performance;the last is the portfolio-based work model.Secondly,through the semi-structured interview research method to explore the reason why musicians began to DIY,the study found that the identity and resistance of DIY morality and cultural entrepreneurship are the motivations for musicians to practice DIY,and also the three driving forces that drive musicians to establish music career.The DIY career is a place of struggle.The work and career of musicians need to overcome the contradiction between DIY ethics and cultural entrepreneurship.Finally,combining semi-structured interviews and second-hand data related to the Chinese music industry to analyze the relationship between digital technology and DIY musicians,the study found that technological empowerment stimulates the entrepreneurial spirit of musicians,is conducive to creating new cultures,and helps However,the research found that the structured monopoly under the platform economy has gradually compressed the autonomy of the musicians,which may lead to excessive self-development and self-exploitation of the musicians;only commercial musicians have become real participants in the music industry,forming healthy independent music Ecology can inspire more creativity and cultural vitality. |
