A Report On The Translation Of JINMAGAZINE From The Perspective Of Reception Aesthetics Theory

With the development of social informatization,the communication between countries has deepened unprecedentedly.Against such backdrop,people become increasingly eager to explore the world.And newspapers and magazines provide an important channel for people to better understand the world.JINMAGAZINE is a Tianjin-based magazine with foreigners living in Tianjin and overseas Chinese from Tianjin being its main readers.Through digging up the local anecdotes and latest news in Tianjin,it showcases Tianjin in an all-round way so that its readers can have a better understanding of the city.Entrusted by JINMAGAZINE,the author took part in the translation of the magazine contents on the basis of which the translation practice report was completed.These selected foreign publicity texts have strong local cultural characteristics.And the reception situation of such texts shows that the translation practice should be conducted by focusing on the reaction and reception of the readers.Therefore,the author finally chose“reception aesthetics”as the guiding theory of this report.Focusing on the reading and reception activities of the readers,reception aesthetics theory emphasizes the active participation of readers in the translation process.It is in this context that reception aesthetics has practical guiding significance in translating these texts.The report consists of four chapters.The first chapter is a brief introduction of the translation practice.The second chapter is a chronicle of the translation process.As the core of this report,the third chapter introduces the theory of reception aesthetics and translation case analysis in terms of words’ translation and sentences’ translation.And the fourth chapter is a summary of the translation practice.By completing the translation and writing this report,the author has gained a deeper understanding of the translation of such typical texts as well as the reception aesthetics theory.It is hoped that this practical experience can provide a reference for future translation work in this field.
