Study On Lu Tianming’s Novel Creation

Lu Tianming is an important writer in the contemporary literary world in China.He once served as a member of the National Committee and the presidium of the Chinese Writers Association.Since 1984,ten novels and a collection of novellas have been published.Lu Tianming is a writer with a strong sense of social responsibility,national mission and humanistic feelings.His novels are rich in themes,various in narrative techniques and have high artistic charm.In each of his works,he pays attention to the reality,describes the reality,condenses the real life into the phenomenon of the times,records the social life of the whole country,and shows his concern and strong sense of social responsibility for the fate of the country and the nation.Under the guidance of Marxist theory of literature and art,this paper attempts to grasp the characteristics of Lu Tianming’s novels as a whole,and through the comparative study of the whole and the part,to explore Lu Tianming’s novels from multiple perspectives.This paper consists of three chapters.The first chapter is the research on the theme of Lu Tianming’s novels.This chapter divides the themes of Lu Tianming’s novels into three types: officialdom theme,educated youth theme and root seeking theme.Combined with the author’s personal experience,creation concept,creation background,and the author’s internal and external needs in choosing these themes,the author discusses and analyzes the presentation of these themes respectively.Lu Tianming is familiar with his official works.His officialdom novels focus on anti-corruption themes.In these works,he makes a deep thinking on corruption and anti-corruption,reveals the complexity and difficulty of anti-corruption struggle,and inquires into the root of corruption.In addition,during the 30 years of reform and opening up in China,he wrote a novel about reform,describing the development of reform and opening up in Shenzhen.Lu Tianming’s works on the theme of educated youth have certain representativeness in the literature of educated youth.It can be said that neither of his two informed novels is a simple affirmation or negation of the life of educated youth going up the mountain and down to the countryside,but a reflection of the real description and thinking of the reality and the changes of the times and history.Lu Tianming’s root seeking novels have strong characteristics of magic realism.In these novels,he explored history,national culture and national psychology by magic and thought about human nature from the perspective of philosophy.The second chapter is the characters in Lu Tianming’s novels.This chapter analyzes the typical characters in Lu Tianming’s novels,such as anti-corruption hero image,corrupt elements image,intellectual youth image and the pioneer image of reform and opening up.The anti-corruption heroes in Lu Tianming’s novels are all the characters in the system.They are brave and intelligent.The most important thing is that they always keep the pursuit of lofty faith and the spirit of dedication without regret.According to the characteristics of the corruptionists in his works,they can be divided into the conceptualized corruptionist image from the beginning to the end and the corruptionist image with the original intention of being a good official,but gradually losing its self image in front of the interests and temptations.Xie Ping,the hero of Lu Tianming’s two informed novels,is one of the most successful characters he created.The second section of this chapter mainly analyzes the image of Xie Ping,the incarnation of a generation of idealists,and Qi Jingfang,the victim of incomplete love.Lu Tianming’s pioneer images of reform and opening up include wise leaders and small people who ride the waves in the tide of market economy.They are all typical characters in the typical environment that Lu Tianming pays attention to.The third chapter is the narrative characteristics of Lu Tianming’s novels.This chapter discusses the two narrative characteristics of Lu Tianming’s Novels: the type of narrative mode and the transformation of narrative perspective.The narrative strategy of Lu Tianming’s anti-corruption novels is in a type state,no matter in the design of the story background,the arrangement of the plot,or in the setting of the characters,there are similarities and rules to follow.Lu Tianming is a writer who is good at changing various narrative perspectives.To a great extent,it improved the artistic expression of his novels and added new artistic effects to these works.But in some works,when he uses a narrative perspective,he goes beyond the limitations of this perspective and adds some new functions that this perspective should not have,so as to produce the phenomenon of cross-border narrative perspective.This reduces the logic of the plot to some extent.
