| Translation has become an important way for China to improve its foreign discourse and strengthen its cultural soft power.Cross Cultural Transgressions-Research Models in Translation Studies Ⅱ: Historical and Ideological Issues discusses translation at a cultural level,and contains 12 representative translation cross-cultural research results in recent years.Twelve papers put translation activities within the framework of social-cultural history for review,focusing on analyzing historical and ideological issues in potential translated texts,and providing new perspectives and thinking space for translation studies in the new century.This translation project provides some reference value to students and experts engaged in the study of translation theory and practice,and also has some reference significance for the study of translation culture.The project was translated by four members of our translation team.The translator was responsible for the translation of chapter 5 and chapter 6 of this book.This book is an informative text that is suitable for translation with communicative translation strategy,but it contains many academic languages,such discourse should be translated by semantic translation strategy.Therefore,the translator chooses translation strategies that focus on communicative translation,supplemented by semantic translation,and uses reasonable translation skills to translate,so as to provide better academic translation.This translation practice report consists of five parts.In the first part,the translator introduces the background knowledge of the book;the second part discusses the preparation before translation,problems encountered during translation,and the work after the translation;the third part introduces the translation theory and translation strategies adopted by the translator in detail,namely,Newmark’s text typology,semantic translation,and communicative translation strategies;the fourth part is case analysis,based on the pre-translation preparations,the translator cites cases and introduces the translator’s solutions to the most difficult points in translation;in the fifth part,the translator reviews and summarizes the translation practice,and puts forward the shortcomings and future efforts. |
