On Ding Ling And America

Ding Ling,as one of the most importent writers in modern and contemporary China,enjoys a great reputation at home and abroad.The cultural exchange between Ding Ling and the United States began in the 1930 s.From the 1930 s to the 1980s(except for 30 years of Sino-US diplomatic ties)Ding Ling maintained extensive and in-depth exchanges with the United States,including work translation,interpersonal communication,visits,media reports,and even academic research.This paper systematically sorts out the history of Ding Ling’s exchanges with the United States for nearly 60 years.It not only explores the subtle changes in Ding Ling’s experience,cognition,and attitudes towards American culture during the exchanges between the United States and the United States,but also relates to the Ding Ling’s Research and comment,in order to re-understand and evaluate Ding Ling,provide a new method and ideas for promoting Sino-US cultural exchanges.This article is divided into five parts,namely introduction,chapter one,chapter two,chapter three and conclusion.The introduction analyzes the research significance and purpose of this paper,the domestic and foreign literature review,research methods and innovations;The first chapter mainly analyzes the interpersonal relationship between Ding Ling and American friends in different periods,and specifically examines the impact of American friends(especially Smedley and Nie Hualing)on Ding Ling’s personal works in different periods,and promotes Ding Ling’s Understand and communicate.The second chapter mainly discusses the Ding Ling’s view of the United States formed in the process of communication with the United States.This paper believes that Ding Ling’s evaluation of the United States is divided into three stages.Each stage of the American view has certain similarities and its own characteristics.It is not a fixed layer,but a process of change and development.The paper also analyzes the reasons for the formation of Ding Ling’s American outlook.The third chapter focuses on the research of Ding Ling in the American cultural world,and divides the research of Ding Ling in the United States into three stages,and discusses the three aspects of the researchers’ emotional attitude to Ding Ling,research concerns,and Ding Ling’s image shaping in the three stages.Change to explore the complex reasons behind its research.The epilogue summarizes Ding Ling’s exchanges with the United States for more than 20 years,and Ding Ling’s mutual exploration with the United States has undergone a phased change.The blind spots of their own vision and social and cultural context are important factors that affect this change,which leads to a certain deviation in their cognition of each other,but broadens the research methods and fields of Ding Ling to a certain extent,and deepens the cultural exchanges between China and the United States.
