Reading comprehension is considered as an essential language skill to master the language and obtain information.In the meantime,it also plays a significant role in implementing quality education for the students.There is no doubt that some theories are derived from the task-based language teaching have enlightened new perspectives for foreign language teaching,especially in English reading teaching and learning.There is a lot of researches on TBLT in junior middle school from the existing domestic research,but there are relatively little researches on English reading in senior high school.This experiment chooses two parallel classes of senior one randomly from Nanchang normal affiliated middle school in Jiang Xi province and the experiment lasts half a year in the senior high school.The two classes are randomly divided into two groups---experimental class(EC)and controlled class(CC).The EC adopts task-based language teaching methods,while the CC uses traditional language teaching methods.There exist 60 students in the experiment class and 55 students in the controlled class.This paper aims to explore whether TBLT is effective in high school English reading teaching as well as whether TBLT can improve high school students’ English reading ability.After implementing the questionnaire and English tests before and after the experiment,the author would utilize qualitative and quantitative analyses to collect data and then analyzed by the SPSS 25.0 software.The experimental results show that TBLT is effective in high school English reading and it can improve high school students’ English reading ability.At last,the author put forward some relevant implications about the task-based language teaching method.Meanwhile,there exist some problems that need to be noticed about applying task-based language teaching to reading teaching. |
