Inner Mongolian Youth Director "City Film" Space Narrative Research(2014-2019)

The academic advocacy of constructing the "Chinese Film School",regional film research has become a hot topic in the academic circle.Inner Mongolia films are rich in subject matter and new directors emerge one after another.They are called "Inner Mongolia Group" by many scholars,which means new directors and works of Inner Mongolia regional films in recent years.This paper takes "city flims" created by relatively active young directors from Inner Mongolia from 2014 to 2019 as the research object,and selects representative film directors Zhang Dalei,Degena,Zhou Ziyang and Xin Yukun’s works on city themes to interpret and analyze the narrative features of Inner Mongolia’s urban space in their works.The thesis focuses on the Inner Mongolia autonomous region urban space shown in the young director’s film,the story content in the film revolves around the city.the city’s space and social production affect the development of the story.the city’s culture is a unique symbol in the inner Mongolia city.it not only paves the story background,but also promotes the development of plot and character arc.The flim has a limited area of spatial narrative scope and presents a city space with regional cultural characteristics,which is directly displayed by the movie through images.With the help of spatial narratology,the urban space in the region is used to promote narration,which shows that the urban space in the movie has the function of narration and meaning expression.Using urban sociology and the flim director’s own personal experience as the prototype,this paper discusses the identity consciousness and image representation of ordinary people under the changes of the city,and analyzes the geo-culture it presents.Using cultural geography,through the director’s presentation of images in urban space,this paper describes the evolution of humanity space and traditional ethnic culture in Inner Mongolia.This paper analyzes the regional formation,realistic construction and impressionistic construction of film space narration,focusing on the pastoral areas,urban space and regional space of ethnic minorities in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region constructed by the director in his works.Through the analysis of the flim space narrative,the complex cultural landscape and distinctive cultural features of Inner Mongolia society are reflected.This paper tries to clarify that Inner Mongolia’s "city movies" are not Inner Mongolia’s ethnic movies through the spatial narrative research of "city movies" created by young film directors from Inner Mongolia.From the narrative content and scope ofexpression,it presents a new inner Mongolia urban space,which is different from the folk scenes in the past ethnic movies in Inner Mongolia.It increases the aesthetic and research horizons of the regional movies in Inner Mongolia,and hopes to provide reference experience for the creation and research of the current regional movies in China.regional movies in China and promote the spatial narrative research of regional film in China.
