After Buddhism was introduced into Tibet from India and Central plains of China in the 7th century.Tibetan Buddhism was formed through the process of integration with Tibetan local religions.This was a period of time where Buddhism greatly flourished and influenced Tibetan culture.Due to different ideas,Tibetan Buddhism produced several different sectarian groups.Although there are subtle differences between the structure of inheritance and the method of teaching and cultivation,their underlying essence and connotation are moreover the same.The Nyingma sect,the Kagyu sect,the Sakya sect,and the Gelugpa sect,which developed in succession,have been inherited and continued through their own teachings.In the course of this process,there were other small sects that gradually disappeared overtime in history.Although some of them gradually died out in the process of development,its teaching method still remains to this day carried out or adopted by other sects.Since Machik Labdr?n school’s formation in the 11 th century,it has broken through the definition of sect,crossed regional boundaries,and transcended the concept of race.Based on the background on the foundations of the school and the views on Buddhism,its teaching methods in monasteries and practitioners.This paper studies the development status of the whole school and the reasons for its demise and also analyzes the causes influencing the formation of this thought of schools of consciousness in different sects.By means of field investigation,data collection and other research methods,this paper attempts to explore the development process of the awareness of the domain school through four chapters.The first chapter mainly explores the historical background on the formation of Ch?d,and its analysis on the origin of the initial establishment of it through three elements,which are politics,economy,and culture.In the second chapter,we discuss the development and formation of the awareness field school on the basis of Padampa Sangye’s commentary and the establishment of the awareness field school by Machik Labdr?n.Due to the unique practice of the mindfulness school,which has been accepted by different sects and practiced by different groups of people.This chapter further discusses the main Buddhist insights of the Ch?d domain school.Based on the teaching foundation of the Prajnaparamita Sutra,the concept of taming the four demons and the unique method of practice,this paper refers to the teachings of Prajnaparamita sutra.The third chapter explores the spread of this method in other sects and the already existing monasteries of the different schools as an entry point to study the development status of the teaching method and also of the temple.Taking the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism as an example,this paper explores how the teaching method of the Ch?d sect penetrates and integrates with other sects over the course of time.The fourth chapter focuses on the meditative practitioners along with changing times through different groups and different states of practices.The practitioners are split into the traditional vision following the 11 th century practice and the modern sense field school practitioners of the current period.As research objects this chapter includes interviews of two at home lay practitioners and one monk practitioner,all following the field of awareness in contemporary vision.This paper hopes to analyze the influence of the method of enlightenment and its effects on individual practitioners through their practice and their process of understanding this method. |
