Tibet Military Art Research | | Posted on:2021-10-11 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:X Luo | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2505306095497114 | Subject:Chinese ethnic minority art | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Since the 40 s of the last century,Tibet keeps attracting Chinese artists to explore their individual art style and catch the topics of The Times there,which makes the Tibet themed painting becomes a significant art phenomenon of the 20 th century’s Chinese art history.Since the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet,the Chinese people Liberation Army(PAL)keep actively participating the development of Tibet.The military painters,which is a special artist group of the art and culture field of PAL.They always have good communicating relationship with the local artists powers and participate in the procedure of local art development.Their art explorations and achievements in different historical periods,which have supported the developments of Tibet art and Chinese modern art,become an important proportion of Tibet art development.This article is a case study of three military painters,Gu Shiben,Chen Dengmu and Luo Pixiang.They are placed in the context of their respective times to examine the military artistic life and personal painting creations of the three military painters since the democratic reform of Tibet until the mid-1990 s.On this basis,the role of this group in the history of contemporary and contemporary art in Tibet,the characteristics of artistic creation determined by their special identity,as well as theinteraction with local artistic creation and the thinking and specific measures corresponding to the development of the times are explored.Gu Shiben,Chen Dengmu and Luo Pixiang had a clear Master-Apprentice relationship.They were the backbone of the art creation of the military artists in Tibet at that time.All three of them have been in Tibet for at least 12 years.The pedigree study of the three people has full case study value,which also presents the main characteristics of military painters in Tibet different periods.Gu Shiben’s work and life in Tibet ranged from Tibet’s democratic reform period to the beginning of reform and opening up.During this period,he has always adhered to his artistic beliefs and integrated into the cultural and artistic life of Tibet,making his works show a unique "realistic" spirit and humanistic care under the investigation of historical context,which is a special presence among military painters of the period.Chen Dengmu’s work and life in Tibet ranged from the middle of the Cultural Revolution art period to the early 1990 s.During this period,he created a large number of thematic paintings and commercial paintings.The theme of the work has a clear corroborative relationship with its era,which has the characteristics of a military painter in this period.Luo Pixiang’s working and living period in Tibet was from the reform and opening up period to the mid-1990 s.During this period,hecreated a large number of commercial paintings in addition to the thenme oriented paintings,and actively invested in the Tibetan art market as a dual-purpose talent in the army,which has obvious characteristics of the times.At present,the research on military painters in Tibet is still missing.Therefore,this research project has made a contribution to the understanding of the growth of military painters in Tibet,their artistic creation,interaction with local arts,and corresponding and challenges which they had faced in different historical development periods. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Military painter in Tibet, Gu Shiben, Chen Dengmu, Luo Pixiang, Realism | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
