Theoretically assumed promoting work-related outcomes,person-organization fit has not shown consistent relationships with job performance in empirical research yet.The inconsistency of those results may be ascribed to the influence of other variables.According to previous researches on the relationship between person-organization fit and job performance,most of them focused on the impact of work-related factors such as organizational identity,job satisfaction,organizational support,and organizational commitment.We buy that the key influences exist not only in workplace,but also are related to one’s traits and comprehensive psychological experiences,and the love of money and psychological well-being are two typical representations.From lens of the self-determination theory,the core connotation of personorganization fit is parallel to the identified regulation,love of money is parallel to the external regulation,and both motivational forms have direct impact on psychological well-being.We studied how person-organization fit,psychological well-being and love of money affect job performance jointly.Based on the self-determination theory,we constructed two basic models,which are named moderated mediation and mediated model.The first model verifies the mediating or moderating roles of psychological well-being and love of money play between person-organization fit and job performance,whereas the second model is a supplementary study to fully explain the complexity of multivariate interactions.According to the data collected from 324 valid student and employee samples,our study utilized both linear regression analysis and bootstrapping approach to verify our conjectures.A series of results do reveal a positive relationship between person-organization fit and job performance.The moderated mediation analysis indicates that compared to the employees with higher levels of love of money,the mediated path bonding person-organization fit and psychological well-being is stronger than those of lower level,and the mediated path bonding person-organization fit and job performance is also stronger than those of lower level.The mediation analysis indicates that job performance has positive impact on psychological well-being,and it plays a mediated role in the relationship of person-organization fit and psychological well-being as well.
