On The Characteristics And Translation Strategies Of Terms In Scientific And Technological Texts

With the development of the times,people pay more attention to the developed science and technology and its texts for transmitting and recording relevant information.Extensive transmission of scientific texts makes the accuracy of their translation receive a degree of concern,and the basis of ensuring the accuracy of scientific documents translation is that naming the terms must have certain normalization.This requires the translator to master relevant professional knowledge of scientific texts,certain terminology translation skills and practical application ability,and finally ensure the accuracy and feasibility of the translation.Based on the analysis of the translation practice,i.e.,the English-Chinese translation of the 12-16 chapters in the Special Forces Waterborne Operations,terms in the text can be divided into four types: technical terms,proper nouns,high-frequency words and terms in special positions.By using literal translation,free translation,imitation,and conversion of part of speech,the translation of terms is properly and reasonably determined,and the relevant translation methods of maritime terms are summarized to provide the experience and reference value for the same type of scientific texts.
