This report aims to find out the guidance of Mr.Xu Yuanchong’s translation aesthetics theory and his Triple Transformation Theory in EST(English for science and technology)translation. The scientific texts are mostly written language, and they are more specific and objective, with little emotional content. In addition, the expressions in the scientific texts are relatively simple. Thus, there is little aesthetic research on the translation of EST.In fact, excellent scientific texts and their translations are also aesthetically pleasing.Although the words and sentences of scientific texts are not as elegant as literary works, their languages are expressed in vivid ways as much as possible while expounding the rules and theories of science. Therefore,EST not only has the characteristics of a formal written language, but also has a vivid aesthetic style. When carrying out the EST translation,we should not only be satisfied with the fluency of words and sentences, but also try to explore the aesthetics contained therein. This report uses the translation of the first chapter of Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual as an example, searching for some specific examples to demonstrate the guidance of Mr.Xu Yuanchong’s Triple Transformation Theory in EST translation.Through this translation practice report, the author hopes to provide some aesthetic reference for the translation study of the first chapter of Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual,so that readers and related practitioners can experience the beauty while studying the information.
