| Several studies found that Internet gaming disorders are accompanied by impairment of social functions and reject to interact with others in real life.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to explore the mechanism of social difficulties in Internet gaming disorders.Accurate recognition of facial expressions is the basis of social activities,while Internet gaming disorders have been addicted to online games for a long time,reducing face-to-face social activities,so their ability to recognize facial expressions may be reduced.Facial expression in real life include both ordinary expressions and numerous micro-expressions.Micro-expression also play an important role in society.However,previous studies focused on ordinary expressions,and rarely examined whether the micro-expression recognition ability of Internet gaming disorders was damaged,and whether the impairment was affected by the duration and intensity of micro-expression.Therefore,this study designed three experiments to investigate whether micro-expressions recognition of Internet gaming disorders is impaired and its influencing factors.In the first study,the JACBART paradigm was used to investigated whether the ability of micro-expression recognition in Internet gaming disorder was impaired.We selected 60 Internet gaming disorders and 60 healthy individuals and designed a mixed experiment of 2(subject:Internet gaming disorder group,control group)×2(micro-expression:sad,happy).The results showed that the accuracy of the Internet gaming disorder group was significantly lower than that in the control group,and the response time was significantly longer than that of the control group.The response time to the sad micro-expression was significantly shorter than the happy micro-expression in Internet gaming disorder group.Moreover,the accuracy of Internet gaming disorder group was negatively correlated with social anxiety scores.In study two,we used a mixed design of 2(subject:Internet gaming disorder group,control group)×2(micro-expression:sad,happy)×3(micro-expression duration:short-80ms,medium-120ms,long-160ms).Further examining the effect of the duration on the damage of Internet gaming disorders’ micro-expressions recognition.The results showed that the accuracy was significantly lower and the response time was significantly longer in the Internet gaming disorder group than that in the control group when the duration was short and medium,while there was no significant difference in the accuracy and response time between the two groups when the duration was long.Moreover,the accuracy was negatively correlated with the social anxiety score when the duration was medium.In study three,we used a mixed design of 2(subject:Internet gaming disorder group,control group)×2(micro-expression:sad,happy)×3(micro-expression intensity:low-40%,medium-60%,high-80%)to explore the influence of the intensity on the damage of Internet gaming disorders’ micro-expression recognition.The results showed that the accuracy was significantly lower and the response time was significantly longer in the Internet gaming disorder group than that in the control group when the intensity was low,the response time was significantly longer in the Internet gaming disorder group than that in the control group,and there was no significant difference in the accuracy between the two groups when the intensity was medium,while there was no significant difference in the accuracy and response time between the two groups when the intensity was high.In summary,the following conclusions can be draw from this study:(1)compared with the control group,the micro-expression recognition ability of the Internet gaming disorders was impaired;(2)the impairment of recognition ability in Internet gaming disorders may be related to social anxiety;(3)the impairment of recognition ability in Internet gaming disorders existed only when the duration was short and medium;(4)the impairment of the recognition ability in Internet gaming disorders existed only when the intensity was low and medium. |
