With the development of political multi-polarization and economic globalization, the world is now in a period of great change.Under this trend,it seems very important for a country to seize the opportunity and grow into a powerful nation by developing its technological strength.Nowadays,China plays a more and more important role in the world. The rapid development of technological strength is a way for China to be recognized by the world.Brain computer interface/brain-machine interface(BCI/BMI)is a new technology and relatively new approach to communicate between human and machine by translating brain activity into commands for communication and control. The source text is about the introduction of BCI technology and its application in neurofeedback games. As BCI is capable of detecting human intentions,it is a promising communication tool for paralyzed patients to communicate with the external world. What’s more,BCI-based games have been identified as a unique entertainment mechanism nowadays. This is an E-C translation practice report, and the source text is excerpted from Signal Processing and Machine Learning for Brain-Machine Interfaces. The report consists of four chapters. The first chapter describes the translation task, including the introduction and features of the source text as well as the significance of the task. The second chapter discusses the translation process, which is divided into pre-translation preparations, translation schedule and post-translation modification. The third chapter is the core part of the translation report, and the author selects some specific examples to explore the translation methods at lexical, syntactic and discourse levels under the guidance of Peter Newmark’s text typology theory. The last chapter is the summary about the translation difficulties and experience.By translating the source text and writing this translation report, the author realizes that there are many points to be paid attention to in the translation of scientific texts, and it is necessary to translate professionally and rigorously under the guidance of appropriate translation theory. It is hoped that this report will provide reference for the translation of texts on the same subject. |
