| Classroom questioning is the most common form of teacher-student interaction in teaching.Effective classroom question in English reading class can stimulate and guide students to learn and think positively,and maximize students’ classroom participation and learning effect.In this study,the teacher’s questions are recorded according to the classroom observation in order to understand the types of questions in English reading class and the intention those questions in PWP stages.Based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and the English Curriculum Standard(2017),this study conducted a three-month study using classroom observation and interview.A total of 5 unit reading class question cases are collected.It is found that in the pre-reading stage,the "perception and attention" type of questions is the most frequently asked.In the while-reading phase,to obtain key information and key content,the "access and combing" class of questions is the most frequently asked.In the process,in order to cultivate students’ ability to think actively,the "analysis and judgment"type of questions will be accompanied by questions,in the reading text content learning,and teachers will ask "summary and integration" type of questions to help students form structured knowledge.The post-reading stage is to expand the text content,and improve the student ability stage,therefore the teacher’s question will surpass the text content.In order to cultivate student’s high-order thinking,teachers will design suitable "reasoning and argumentation" and "criticism and evaluation"problems according to students’ cognitive level.Questions in the pre-reading stage are to create a thematic context for the whole teaching of reading and to plan the subject scope for the teaching of while-reading and post-reading;the question type in the while-reading stage is influenced by the "expected learning results",that is,the output in post-reading stage;questions in post-reading stage are based on the explanation in while-reading.The study of teachers’ question in English reading class will make English teachers aware of the current level of their own classroom questions and provide some reference for new teachers to set up reading class questions. |
