| Reading and writing are two important skills in the process of English learning.For primary school students,a large amount of English input(listening,reading)is the premise of output(speaking,writing).Studies have shown that English picture books,with their vivid pictures and illustrations,meet the cognitive and psychological needs of primary school students and can effectively improve their English comprehension ability,thus creating conditions for writing output ability.Therefore,how to develop primary School students’ English writing competence through picture-book reading effectively is a topic worthy of research.The purpose of this study is to explore how to develop primary School students ’ English writing competence through picture-book reading in the actual English teaching,which mainly from the two following aspects:(1)Can picture-book reading effect primary school students’ attitude towards English writing?(2)Can picture-book reading effect primary school students’ English writing ability?Based on the theories of input hypothesis,output hypothesis and interaction hypothesis,the research takes 21 fifth-grade primary school students in an extracurricular English interest class in Yanji city,Jilin province as the research objects to conduct an experimental study on developing primary school students’ English writing competence through picture-book reading in a semester.The writing test and questionnaire are used to gather related data,and"I Write 2.0","SPSS17.0" are used to analysis the data.The result of the research shows that:1.Picture-book reading can effect primary school students’English writing attitude positively and improves primary school students’ writing interest,confidence and cognition of improve writing by reading.2.Picture-book reading can improve primary school students writing ability positively,which includes the vocabulary richness and difficulty,syntactic ability,writing score and reduce the writing mistakes. |
