The Study Of Xi’An’s Image In Jo Jung-Rae’s Novel "The Human Jungle"

Based on the analysis and research of Zhao Tinglai’s novel“Thousands of Jungles",from the perspective of literary geography,this article discusses the image of Xi’ an and described in it from three aspects:1.Zhao Tinglai,"The Human Jungle" and China;2.The image of Xi’ an in "The Human Jungle";3.The artistic value of the image of Xi’ an in "The Human Jungle"."The Human Jungle" is a novel wrote by Zhao Tinglai with China as the background,telling the story of Korean entrepreneurs.After the book was published in 2013,it aroused enthusiastic responses.Before that,Zhao Tinglai had come to China dozens of times for the creation of "Taibai Mountains" and"Arirang",and incorporated his perception of Chinese society and culture into the novel "The Human Jungle“.Zhao Tinglai made a rectification and explanation for China in his novel”The Human Jungle“.China,like China’ s high-speed rail,is undergoing earth-shaking changes and rapid development without stopping.Xi’ an is one of the most representative developing cities.A city that was an ancient capital of the thirteen dynasties,has also fallen through due to historical changes,but now,the image of Xi’ an is undergoing earth-shaking changes.But at the same time,the novel“The Human Jungle“points out that it is very undesirable for society to blindly pursue economic benefits,vigorously develop the economy,and even develop the economy at the expense of the environment.This article mainly studies the image of Xi’ an in "The Human Jungle“from the perspective of literary geography from three aspects—destroyed natural environment,ancient history and culture,”officialdom" and"business”.The author points out that economic development should not be at the expense of the beautiful natural environment and long history and culture of the ancient capital of Xi’ an.The pollution and losses that have been caused should be compensated by stopping developing as soon as possible.In addition,through the description of some Xi’ an people in the business field,he has shown their understanding of Xi’ an people.Finally,this article points out some misunderstandings in the description of the image of Xi’an-that is,Xi’an’s natural environmental pollution and history protection are not as bad as described in the book.The phenomenon in”officialdom" and "business”mentioned is not universal.Most people in Xi’ an are simple and kind and honest.
