A Study Of The Northeast Writings In Liang Shanding’s Novels

Liang Shanding is one of the representative writers in the occupied area of Northeast China,his literary works and literary proposals have had a profound impact on the Northeast literary world.But compared with Xiao Hong,Xiao Jun,Bai Lang and other writers in the same area,the researches of him in the academic circles are not rich.Born and raised in the Northeast,Liang Shanding was influenced by the May Fourth Literature and started literary creation,afterwards he participated in the anti-Japanese patriotic literary movement.After the establishment of Manchukuo,the government continued to take violent measures to control the cultural world,causing many northeastern writers to be forced to flee their homeland.Liang Shanding chose to stay in the occupied area and continued to publish his works against colonizer with subtle methods.In late 1943 he left his hometown in order to escape Manchukuo authorities.The number of Liang Shanding’ s novels is not numerous.Most of his creations centered on the social life of the occupied Northeast.In his northeast writing,there are all kinds of beings,regional characteristics,and his feelings of homeland.This paper is rooted in Liang Shanding’ s novels,using social historical criticism method and text closing reading method,and conducts study from three aspects:content,thought,and artistic characteristics.The paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is introduction,it is about making a brief discussion of Liang Shanding’s life experience and literary creation,and then the significance,research status and methods of this paper.The second chapter is about the characters in Northeast writing of Liang Shanding’s novels.He had rich experiences of urban and rural life,in his works he shaped different types of people appear in Manchuko.This paper focuses on the following figures:women,landlords and gentry,young intellectuals and bandits,Shandong immigrants and foreigners.From this,we can see the social life picture of the northeast people under the background of manchuria regime.The third chapter is about the regional characteristics of Northeast writing in Liang Shanding’ s novels.Liang Shanding detailed described the natural and human environment,the folk life and characteristics of the Northeast.He was full of nostalgia in writing his hometown environment and folk customs.Through his writings,looking back at the folk life in Northeast China decades ago,it shows the strong cultural heritage.The fourth chapter is about feelings of homeland in Northeast writings of Liang Shanding’s novels.In the course of China’s Anti-Japanese War,the Northeast was the first corner to fall.Liang Shanding,who stayed in the occupied area,witnessed the political turmoil and economic ruin.The scene of the Japanese aggressors’brutality made him extremely angry and worried.As a progressive writer with a sense of justice and national mission,he revealed his feelings for his country,reflected deeply on the national character,and praised the indomitable vitality and rebellious spirit of the people in Northeast China.The fifth chapter is about the artistic features of Northeast writing in Liang Shanding’s novels.First,his literary road grew in the most humiliating period in the Northeast.Under the strict censorship of the Japanese puppet regime,the expression of his anti-Japanese patriotic consciousness in his novels was more obscure.Second,he used a lot of northeast dialect in his works,which made the novel more vivid and made the northeast style more distinct.Therefore,Liang Shanding’s novels is of great significance in the context of the fall of Northeast China.People’s misery and the fall of homeland inspired the writer’s national consciousness,it constitutes a series of ideas and images in the novels,such as country,hometown,pastoral,folk lives,customs,etc.It preserves the collective memory of the nation in a specific time.Combined with the memory,he showed the living state of his country and people,thought about the future,and completed the tortuous expression of the anti-Japanese patriotic spirit in the colonial context.Therefore,the research on Northeast writing of Liang Shanding’s novels is beneficial to rediscover and explain the value of his works.
